BTEA TO PLAY KEY ROLE IN NYC HURRICANE SANDY RAPID REPAIRS PROGRAM
The Bloomberg Administration has designated the BTEA to play a leading role in the New York City Hurricane Sandy Rapid Repairs Program.
The BTEA will serve as the central point for the registration of construction contractors under the Rapid Repairs Program for work on private sector residences from 1 to 10 stories that have been damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy. The BTEA’s role in this program will include the coordination of all contractor and public inquiries, the registration of contractors to perform the work and with manufacturers and suppliers of materials.
The BTEA is establishing a contractor and supplier registration form on its website at www.bteany.com. This registration form is now available on the BTEA website.
Under the Rapid Repairs Program, New York City will establish 3 or 4 geographic areas for program administration with program managers, construction managers or general contractors designated with responsibility for one geographic area each. The program managers in each of these geographic areas will be selected by FEMA and will be responsible for the selection of contractors for participation in this program.
For more information on contractor registration for the Rapid Repairs Program, please go to the BTEA’s website beginning November 13 or contact the BTEA at 212-704-9745.
Additional information on the Rapid Repairs Program will be provided as it becomes available.
