Safety and Training

The Building Trades Employers’ Association (BTEA) is committed to leadership and action on construction safety. BTEA members have proven that they have the safest jobsites in the country, and will continue to do so. The BTEA has led the industry and the nation in developing BuildSafe NYC, a 12 point code of safe jobsite conduct that every union contractor and worker has pledged to follow to a higher level than required.

The BTEA provides extensive safety training for its contractors and for union workers. Some classes the BTEA provides include 40-Hour Site Safety Manager Training, 30-Hour OSHA Training and 32-Hour Suspended Scaffold Training.

BTEA contractors know that the most important part of the job is making sure that at the end of the day every worker goes home safe and that every New Yorker is safe all day long. With the help of the BTEA, both contractors and organized labor will be trained to the highest degree of safety.
